My time

This is my time right now

Until it is not

My time to hold to covert

To share and spread around

Until it is not

This is my time to sit and be silent

To do handstands if ever I could

To watch to listen to cry and to laugh

Until it is not

This is my time to expand and contract

This is my time to acknowledge

All I have been

All I have done

And sometimes that I have not

This my time to speak out

About the odds and the evens

The plus ones

And the minuses

The triumphs and successes

The tried the tested and the failures

Until it is not

This is my time to both rise and relax

To bathe and to echo

To prod to push embellish and suggest

Until it is not

This is my time to be the person I wish I could

This is my time to speak

To shout out

For those who cannot

This is my time to take stock and appreciate

To savour to reflect and cogitate

Until it is not

This is my time to be over the top

Understated uncomplicated

To untie the knots and sacred plots of destiny

To feed to meet the need

Of those in want

To lift to hold

To build and provide a shield

For those who have none

This is my time

To be me

Until it is not

◄ Knock once for yes

Nothing more than a paper thin kiss ►

Thanks Martin.
I ask myself sometimes: of what use are poetry-and art in general-if they don't serve at some time
To shout out
For those who cannot

From one venerable old gentleman to another it is now our time is it not?
Well said my good friend and thank you for a masterful poem.
