Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday

They cried welcome with words of Hosannah.

Palm fronds were strewn before his way.

He came not in a chariot or on horseback.

But on a lowly donkey who walked the way.

Enthusiastic crowds hailed him as blessed.

Those same voices only five days later.

Shouted Crucify Him - Crucify Him

They demanded a murderer in his place

The religious leaders manipulated the day.

As they are guilty of this same very day

A capricious easily led crowd who swayed.

From a rapturous welcome for their messiah.

Condemned him to death with the same breath.
