Ho Ho Ho, We Have Snow

entry picture

The first snow of winter arrives
always a pretty sight to see
Adults dust off plastic sledges
excited children squeal with glee

A soft, fluffy layer of white
like a duvet covers the ground
Todays plans are on hold for now
there is too much fun to be found

Footprints made from wellington boots
track the paths to the tallest hills
Wrapped up in coats, hats, scarves and gloves
they go in search of snowy thrills

The perfect Christmas card scene is set
with rosy cheeked children at play
Magical memories to last a lifetime
will be made today

Thanks Julie - the good wish is reciprocated! The problem has
suddenly extended (overnight) to the bathroom tap and toilet
supply. As a boy in the 1950s - in pre-central heating days -
we suffered a traumatic burst pipe in our Wiltshire home of that
time, with mother coming home to find the living room carpet
afloat!. It seems that things haven't moved forward much
since - or, to adapt an irritatingly common follow-up: "Lessons haven't been learnt." What happened to "lagging pipes"?? I
suppose they'll put that down to "global warming"! Grrr.

I'm not a grinch,
but I am a dodderer, so I've just phoned up my elfin safety rep, who sez no snow!😊

You have my sympathy about the damage. My kitchen/diner has
just suffered a sudden loss via the cold water tap and I'm having
to get the landlord's agent to arrange a plumber's visit to the
premises. Oddly enough, the bathroom sink cold water tap is
working well enough!

Thanks for the kind comments and likes. Apologies for the late response. We have been away for a few days. Returned to find the snow still at home, although I’m not as pleased as when it first arrived after frozen pipes caused a flood and took down part of our ceiling 😁

Yahoo---it sets the scene anew
Christmas snow will always do!
But in terms of getting about:
I'd rather be inside - looking out.
(at my age) 😋

A lovely poem julie. I suppose its down to personal choice and circumstance's whether or not we are happy to have it snowing
on one hand its great for the kids and traditional part of the season but then on the other hand its difficult for the elderly and roadways etc and that is the way it will always be I expect. Maybe just a fairly short period of it would be acceptable all round think.
