We arrived back home sweet home 
after four weeks away
A list of jobs to do
will keep us busy today  

The garden is a jungle 
the grass desperate for a mow
Weeds have taken over  
growing where they shouldn’t grow 

The house is neat and tidy
but there’s no food to be found 
There’s a pile of envelopes
a messy brown and white mound  

Our late evening flight means 
we had little sleep and rest 
Waking up feeling weary 
and truly not at my best 

I’ve got a plan in place 
it starts with a cup of tea  
Then after few jobs done 
I’m planning a nap around three

Four weeks of rest in Turkey 
erased by a late night flight
I’ll need another holiday 
by eight oclock tonight
