MULTIPLE PERSONALITIES

I dreamt that I was Roger Moore

changing into Max Wall

then suddenly remembered that

we can have multiple personalities within us all,

contemplating no doubt aspirations

beyond our grasp, like a rush for glory or suicide.

In the meantime I felt a desire to impress the ladies

and attend casinos wielding a Walther PPK

gravitating to putting on tight leggings and a wig.

I awoke in a state of confusion,

who was I really?

just a dreamer in a world full of dead heroes

as irrelevant in today's world

as fireside chats or seaside pierrots.

Thanks to all you likers, John, Stephen, Holden, Bethany and K.Lynn.

Thanks Martin for your comment, which confirms my own thoughts! We certainly don the cloak from time to time. I was pleased with that line too, took a bit of shoehorning to get it!

Again Stephen, many thanks as always.

Wow, there's a lot to analyse there Mark. Fascinating stuff, especially the flying dreams, which i'm very sorry to say I don't get these days. I would float up and stay in the air without flying too. I'm all for it, but life brings us down with a bump!

Dreams are strange "visitors". My own sleep pattern tends to be interrupted and can result in two distinct portions, the second
of which can contain what I consider to be "narrative" dreams,
often with the same theme and setting, but not always the same characters. Sometimes they are so vivid as to remain with me
for a while after rising while I try to make out their connection to
anything in my life. Then there are the wonderful "flying over beautiful countryside" dreams. Those I DO enjoy, without feeling any need to question their origins!!

Love it Ray. I have often assumed different personalities in my head throughout the years. But in a sense isn't that a part of what makes us writers and poets.
By the way I love that last line
'as fireside chats or seaside pierrots'
nice one
