Fair point, John, though it's quite easy to have a 'good war' when your not the one being invaded. It's given him a bounce but he'll come down one day (perhaps quite soon).

Strange thing about war. It has always been a feature of human existence: awful in its short-term cost, yet somehow perversely
beneficial in the longer term - like a sort of demented cleansing
process. that can even "jump start" progress across a wide
spectrum that contrasts with the stagnation and rise of dissent
and dissatisfaction that prolonged peace can bring. Some politicians take advantage of what it offers, that's for sure.
