Sunshine and April Snow Showers

Sunshine and April

Snow showers

Early dandies

Have been crowned

In white

Daffodils are holding

Tight

The birds have

Had their fill

Once again

They have returned

In search of human

Kindness

And their wish

Has been fulfilled

Spring lambs

Have lost their spring

What is this white

Cold, fluffy thing!

After last weeks sunshine

We stare out in disbelief

Winter woollies

Have been retrieved

Nature is a mischievous wizard

Mischief unleashed in a blizzard

Magnolias and cherry trees

Shiver at this ignominious scene

Mourning the loss

Of the warm, spring breeze

Praying, once again

For the sun’s reprieve

I do believe that

The turn of the seasons

Is really quite a hazardous thing!

I think wherever you are in the country you could associate yourself with your poem, also I have offered my abundance of food to our feathered friends as soon as the cold snap, snapped.
lovely poem.

Nice poem Clare-thank you and you will be pleased to know that this human has done his kindly bird feeders filling and received a beautiful display of our avian friends in return.

Leon.
