In Shadows, In Truths

The light from behind hid the flaws in the lines
And the smiles that came looked too much like mine

Don't trust and you won't be betrayed
Don't hope and you won't cry when it's late

But you won't see that far with eyes struck on the ground
Who you saw that day wasn't who I found

Where the sight begins is where the story ends
And where the good side dies is where you find heaven

Who will wait till it is too late?
When the shopping list can't be faked as bait

But you won't see that far with eyes struck on the ground
Who you saw that day wasn't who I found

Maybe once in a while the bad guys are right

Maybe the colours are hiding in the black and white

Maybe he wasn't there when he lost the fight

And maybe let the stars decide if they'll shine tonight

But with eyes struck on the ground, you won't see that far
And don't bother looking up 'cause it ends where we are.
