This is only half
a poem
but a half is
better than nothing
if you want
write the other half
make up
your own poem
you can call anything
a poem these days
just like this.

On second thoughts, the complete version may be "Many a true
word is spoken in jest". The meaning being that unpalatable
realities may be "swallowed" if given a certain acceptable "taste" when uttered. Like certain medicines perhaps?!
