Red Light
Many times
we are disappointed
in people
who don't fulfill
their promise
or promises
people
are people
subject to change
still we can
always hope
they will do the right thing
the biggest disappointment
is in ourselves
when our best intentions fail
regret becomes a burden
that stays with us
a reminder of our own mistakes
there will be broken bridges
and bumps in the road
but these cannot deter you
there might be detours
but still go on
life is always under construction
avoid the potholes
overcome the pitfalls
turn around
if you have to
but keep driving
before the light turns red.

Interesting how we expect from others what we so often fail to produce in ourselves "before the light turns red" (I like that pay-off).
