A short time in Cartagena
the sun shone bright today
The captain sounds the horn
as we start our sail away
We pass by small boats and ships
and castles on hills up high
The port slowly fades from sight
there’s not a cloud in the sky
The sun shimmers on the sea
like a light leading the way
A party atmosphere on deck
as the band begin to play

to read this on a dark November's morning as I wrap myself up to take the dogs out for their walk, I was lightened and given a sense of hope that the sun is shining somewhere. A poem to gladden the heart.
