the idea that things can get better

that there is always a way out and up

that when you are feeling as low as you can be

that everything is closing in

that you are drowning in despair

there is always that hand to hold onto

strong enough to lift you up

and bring you back to the surface

breathe it in

keep your head up

have hope.
