Come and See

Come and See

Then there was a faint light

A glimmer of hope in a vault of cloud

No brightness was emitted

Not even shadows could be formed

It seemed to remain still, unmovable

I pondered on its presence

Did it signify new hope or a beginning?

It would not go away

My attention was transfixed

A gradual movement dispersed the remaining darkness

I saw the sun in its full brilliance or was it the sun?

I averted my gaze as it hurt my eyes

My being was being transformed

A warmth enveloped me in a divine embrace

Darkness was nowhere to be seen

The light had penetrated every crevice of darkness

Within my soul a murmuring of joy was born

It was an interior experience, felt within and

Visible only to the eyes of the soul

The moment of salvation had arrived

Not by some clap of thunder

Or a fanfare of trumpets

Only an inviting light which said

Come and See

◄ I never cried

Enjoyed this one, Keith. Interesting to see how you interpret it.

Thanks Kevin,
Your are close. Poetry can be highly subjective. A poem such as this means something to the writer but the reader can interpret it to suit his own particular understanding. It is a rebirth, a dawning of a new reality. You are more perceptive than most mate.
Nowt fairer than that.
Thanks Kevin

Liked this one Keith.
It's one of those that could mean lots of things depending on the readers perspective.
I saw it as some kind of rebirth, I don't know if that was your intention.
Maybe keep it to yoursen, and let each reader give it their own interpretation.
