Wet Noodle
He's a bit peculiar
they always say
trying to put it nicely
without offending
they don't want to use the harsher term
Nuts
only peculiar
the word rolls off the tongue
like a wet noodle
sliding off the plate
and falling to the kitchen floor
then someone has to pick
the slimy thing up
and put it in the trash can
where it clings to the side
refusing to go down
but the wet spot where the noodle was
remains on the floor
it takes a long time to go away
and even when it does
it still leaves a mark
much like the stain
of being called
peculiar.
