After Kosovo war ethnic Romany's fled, only to return when the war was over. 11 years later they are still there. Its a UN camp. 89 at are dead from lead.
There's a kid in a cart in Kosovo
Asleep tonight in his bed
Such as it is in a refugee camp
That is poisoned by lead.
There is United Nations administrators
Who we trusted the IDP's safe to keep
Who said they should stay a mere 45 days
How can they as ease with themselves sleep?
A camp not made by themselves
Deciding in a dangerous place to stay
But built by the UN, meant to safeguard
And keep their likes out of harms way.
And no head will roll for this scandal
As into the camera the girl in blue stares
With an empty gaze as if she knows
That no-one in power cares.
Every child born by the lead is poisoned
Of the people 89 from it are dead
The world so concerned for Kosovos peoples
Nothing about this is done or said.
I'd suppose, sure they are only gypsies...
What intrest or use to the world can they be?
But Jesus said that who does to the least of men
"That they do onto me!"
In the aftermath of the Kosovo war between ethnic Serbs and Albanians ethnic Romany families from the area fled, only to return when the war was over.
This area, known as Little Egypt to King James I of England (King James IV of Scotland), has always had a native population of Roma. King James wanted to found a Roma Kingdom here!
Majority Albanians swept through the Romany quarter of Mitrovica and ran any families left from their homes.
A camp at a schoolhouse was moved - only for 45 days, to the shadow of the local leadworks.
11 years later they are still there.
Its a United Nations camp.
89 at time of writing are dead from lead. Every single child born has irreversable brain damage.
Campaigns by activists such as Paul Polansky to move the camps and get treatments for the lead poisoning sufferers are falling on deaf ears.
