An early evening walk
up and down Gallowber Hill
Warm sun on our backs
no breeze, the air is quite still

Lambs relax in green fields
mellowed by the soft sun rays
Protective sheep keep guard
firmly meeting our gaze 

Rabbits take off in flight 
safely back to their burrow 
Busy birds search for bugs
in and out of wild hedgerow

A break in the weather
no sign of the forecast rain
Late sun in the blue sky 
tall shadows cast down the lane
