Dumbstruck

Dumbstruck, beyond reasonable belief,
That this narcissistic peddler of false hope and bitter grief,
Can still sell the lie that he’ll, “Make his country great again,”
To those that still believe, I have one question, “When?”
When he, “Cures the plague?” Or even takes it seriously?
When he talks calm, common sense? Instead of ranting furiously,
When his policies run deeper than a cheap slogan on a red hat?
When he stops lying like a cheap mattress? Well, good luck with that,
Time to wake up and smell the coffee while you still can,
You’ll never get a straight story from this selfish, crooked man,
He’s lied his way through one term, led you on a, “Merry dance,”
So if he plans another term? Do one thing, make sure he doesn’t stand a chance,
Never again allow this childish, petulant fool to hold the reins of power,
Never again let it get so dark that he’s deemed, “Man of the hour,”
And for those that claim they got carried away by the rhetoric of fiery voices,
I have only this to say, “You’re grown adults, you made your choices,”
The world’s problems will not be solved by thoughtless words and mindless violence,
And if that’s all you’ve got to offer, then the better choice for you is silence,
And don’t get me wrong, free speech is the vanguard of liberty in every nation,
But remember words have consequence and reach, so best they’re born of contemplation.
