Doin' Moon

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to experience an adventurous and ground-breaking collaboration of music and poetry in a unique live performance at the Contact Theatre on Oxford Road in Manchester at the beginning of July.

Brought to you by LiveAMP – a creative network of artists, organisers and audiences of live art, music and poetry - Doin’ Moon is the story of Scorcha and his journey through an emotional landscape of memories and relationships after being imprisoned.

Directed by Jerry Potter and performed by Akiel ‘Scorcha’ Chinelo and WOL’s Anwen Lewis, this production is a series of interwoven narratives between spoken word and classically composed music, devised in an exciting performance, with captivating performances on cello, cajon drum and live vocals.

You can see a fantastic preview of the performance at:www.youtube.com/watch?v=262E8xVAf2Y

Playing from Thursday, 1st to Saturday, 3rd July, 2010 at 7.30pm, with a workshop on Monday, 28th June, from 7pm to 9pm. Tickets for the performance cost £8 (£5 concessions), and are free for the workshop but places must be booked in advance, call the Contact Theatre’s box office on 0161 274 0600.
