The prayer mat

As i stand to praise my lord

And fold my hands reciting holy verses

I travel in time from this world

Into the world of angels

Letting my worries topple and fall

As i bend to highly praise my God

The miraculous ride from here to sky

Past the universes amongst the heavenly skies

Entering the gardens calm, deep and serene

I find tranquility in everything and every stream

Following the steeds of divinely steel

I bend to praise my Lord, My God highly

This isn't a cultural trend or ritual deep

It's a way i connect with my one true God daily

His closeness i do attain reading verses from holy Quran

A connection so strong and bond so truly deep

Nothing can create any vent or dent between Lord and me

My king, my master, friend and everything to me

The lord of all the worlds i pray to, my God almighty

Both of us being spiritualists means we are heart-open to all religions and all aspects of nature ( our seven principals )
so in that respect, this poem appealed to us both beautifully.

Ghazala, I too share this relationship with the Divine. It is the gift of faith, precious indeed. My anchor through the storms of life. Thank you for articulating this in such meaningful poem. Keith
