Breathe in

Just breathe

Slowly

Deliberately

In

out

In

Out

Breathe as if it were your very first breath

Everyday

Just breathe not as if it were your last

Not as if you were running a race

Breathe

Feel your lungs fill with air

And then

Slowly

carefully

Release

Expel

Discharge

In

Out

In and

Out

Just breathe

Don’t let all that would pull you in drag you down

To its own depths

Rather raise all that could be up with you

And breathe

Slowly carefully

Mind only the minutes

Do not fret for the seconds and the hours

Let this day be your day

Your first

Not your last

Do not press in

Or lash out

Just breathe in

And then out

Accept the quiet in the noise

In amongst the shouted splattered spoken traffic

In

And out

And a second becomes a minute

And minute an hour

And an hour a day

In which you are lost to no one

But yourself

Just breathe

Put all of the plates down

The musts the should’s the maybes

The got to’s and also rans

And simply be

Breathe

Just breathe

Don’t flail thrash or drown

Just float on your back

And breathe

In and out

Breathe

Apply once a day evenly throughout until all signs of panic or of fear have gone away.

Hi Ray
I think you have hit the nail on the head there with allowing ourselves to get things in proportion.
Thanks my friend

The act of diaphragm breathing I learnt many years ago , I hope it catches on - the sense of immediacy increases with it and things seem more in proportion, and an important ingredient in yoga. A good message indeed!

Thanks Paul. Yes that is so true that we prepare our selves for the way ahead. rather those brief moments.

Good read Martin.

A saying of mine goes like this...

"We do not meditate for the experience we have during those brief moments it is for the rest of the day."

Ten mins spent gives 23hrs 50mins benefit.

now that is what I call a good investment.

Thanks to Philipos, Emer, Binte, Jordyn and Stephen for liking

Also thanks for commenting Flavia I am glad you enjoyed it . Sometimes we have to take time to take stop and simply just breathe
Cheers

Hello Martin,
I found this to be a lovely read. I was definitely soothed by it. Very calming. Effective in times of panic and chaos I agree.
