gone

entry picture

It’s gone now

And all is pure.

The water has no ripple

The breeze has fallen

And in the sky

The heavens are smooth.

The clouds float seamlessly

And all is clean once more.

The grass is green once more.

At nightfall the moon rises

Like a wise witch,

One who knows it all.

For the breeze has fallen

And the grass is green once more.

The fox sleeps quietly,

Dreamlessly

For all is clean once more

The heavens are smooth

And clouds float seamlessly

Once more.

Thank you Thermo, that is exactly the effect that I was aiming for! xx

I like this too Ann, sort of the cleansing after the storm, the oxygenated air that permeates all.

I liked this too. It might be the scene after rain, which is a lovely thing to conjure up, but it's open for the reader to create their own interpretation.

I enjoyed this poem, Ann. I like the thought of the moon being like a wise witch who knows it all. Good one.
