Still

The world turns beneath my feet as it should,
The skies pass above my head as they always will,
The winds whisper soft secrets to the trees of the wood,
My heart beats and my mind is still,
No worries can penetrate this endless calm,
No passing concerns can break this spell,
The endless frettings of a turbulent world can cause no harm,
My mind is still, and all is well,
As a spider extends it’s legs into infinity,
And feels for the gentlest of movements of its glistening net,
So do I reach out and let my senses touch divinity,
With a still mind and an open heart, lest I forget,
That the world will always turn beneath my feet as it should,
And the skies will pass above my head as they ever did,
And the winds will forever whisper soft secrets to the trees of the wood,
And only to a still mind and an open heart, are these things no longer hid.

Thanks Keith, I'm a great believer in Stoicism, it's the one guiding light I've had throughout my life. I can't change the cards life deals me, I can only choose how I play them, and to be fair, I've got a great poker face.❤

Jason,

Another gem of a poem. As I was reading this the ideas of Greek and Roman Stoicism came to mind, particularly the works of Epithetus and Seneca.

Thank you for this
Keith
