Monkeys filled the vacuum

Covid-19 was frightening.

The public expected their elected representatives to help keep them safe.

The inept politicians acted with assured certainty and abnegated their responsibilities towards the public with uttter contempt.

Monkeys filled the vacuum and treated the public with utter disdain.

Exempted themselves from following the advice issued to the public.

The monkeys now fully in charge of the zoo, appoint spineless scientists, who merrily dance to their tune.

Thus demonstrating that the public is no better served by their elected politicians than by the monkeys pulling the strings.

Kevin, Ghazala, Anmolpreet Kaur and Brian

Thank you all for spending time to read this poem and leaving such thought provoking comments.

Kevin, Ghazala and Anmolpreet Kaur appreciate the encouraging like.

I agree with recent pearls of wisdom given to me by regular bloggers Stephen Gospage and John Short on a different poem but their comments are relevant to this work, too.

Stephen Gospage; "The present government with its daft mixed messages doesn't care.."

John Short; "A few months back the British public were given a chance to vote for sanity and common decency but they decided to go with incompetence, lies and corruption".

Brian Maryon your tongue in cheek question is addressed somewhere in this reply.

Abdul - that's what happens when you buy a Dyson. I'll get my coat.

Seriously, a good piece...though it would be interesting to know which country this is aimed at. Not UK as our lot have tried to do their best for us.

Even monkeys would care more than these power mad politicians.

Best comparison that can ever be done.

Good analysis of the situation.
