I ain't a puppet, and don't wish to be one

This life is mine, I wish to live and have some fun

The way I want to live in city or wilderness 

It ain't anyone's task to see what I don't want to see

 

I ain't a puppet, so let me be what I want to be

I have my dreams and wishes so help me achieve these

I do wish to help you with your wishes too 

But for that don't bury my dreams and wishes deep

 

I ain't a puppet for I breathe at my God's will

So let me take hold of the reigns of my life and this ain't disrespectful 

You are certainly my elders whom I love and care

But you should realise I have grown up and past that diaper age

 

I ain't a puppet so don't treat me like one at your will

Blows after blows over my feelings and emotions

I have suffered a lot since birth, now let me live a little on my own

It's called liberty and freedom which you have enjoyed and don't be mean from restraining me from same

 

I ain't a puppet for I have a heart, mind and soul

It pains, feels and cries if you try to treat me otherwise

What if you are treated in a similar fashion by someone else

Wouldn't you retaliate and try to break free from such constraints 

 

I ain't a puppet to be trained to laugh, eat and sit as per your will

I'm a human with my own inclinations and free will to do things

Treating me like a puppet ain't a fun thing for you to do

The day I cut those threads that binds us together, you will look a fool

 

I ain't a puppet, so stop treating me like one

It ain't being rebellious or I ain't seeking vengeance 

It's my self worth and self respect that I treat you kind

But fear the God who handed me to you, so please be kind
