for what I said

I did not mean

what you thought I meant

it was taken out of context

misquoted

I know it's on tape

but tapes can be doctored

my lips are moving

but it is not me speaking

it's some other guy

that looks like me

but having said that

I profusely apologize

if I offended any person

animal or vegetable

I walk back

my hurtful words

and grovel at your feet

begging for mercy

I confess before God

and the press

that used to love me

please give me absolution

I promise from now on to be good

I will get on my knees

and prostrate myself before you

to say my penance

and make a bigger fool out of myself

then I was before

come to find out

I am not as important

as I thought I was

my 5 minutes of fame

only lasted 2 minutes

what I said was inappropriate

someone out there somewhere

had their feelings hurt

so for the 4th time I repeat myself

I walk it back

I am sorry

it won't happen again
