Back to school too soon!!

Children at home will be shaping their minds in a different way,

They might grow up as better people at the end of the day.

When children return the virus will not call a truce and go home,

It will attack their teachers and round their families will roam.

Social distancing is paramount and will be impossible to enforce,

Children will get infected and pass it on in due course.

To believe kids will play by the rules is crazy,

No masks,no tests.their future is hazy.

Kids running riot in play will not adhere to the rules,

The two metre distancing will be forgotten in schools.

The risk to teachers and staff is too great,

Don't let the coronavirus decide their fate.

As a primary school teacher for 8 years,

Catching transmitted bugs were my main fears.

Constantly chesty catching germs,

On one occcasion I was contaminated with worms.

On sadly leaving teaching, I became virus free,

Fewer virus' around contaminating me.

Teachers must be protected from this virus attack.

It is much too soon to send our children back !!!

Liked this one! Here in Italy the kids have been off school since March, and won't go back until September. Online teaching hopefully will have kept them up with the basics for this year, but it isn't at all the same as being at school with friends, (and enemies). There isn't the interaction between the kids, also not all have internet on whatever at home, so I don't know how those children managed. They are discussing whether to have 'summer schools' to bring those few kids up to date. Children apparently usually don't get the virus so frequently, and in a less serious form, because their immunity system isn't so fully developed. That is what I heard anyway. Better be alive and kicking, and a little behind with the syllabus!
Always enjoy your poems. Jennifer

Online education I could give it a tick,
Keep it simple English an arithmetic.
September is the best time to send them back,
To avoid another coronavirus attack.
Children benefiting from sums and words,
Appreciating nature and the songs of birds.

The teacher's plight during such uneasy times, exploring new options are risky, but can always try their luck in some online work. And children can stay home joining online schools, many new ones are coming. They need online teachers as well.

Why don't you open an online international school to solve this problem?

Hehehe....?

"Mum,I want to go back to school,
I'm missing my friends they're all so cool."
"Coronavirus your teacher has got,
Stay at home you're sweating a lot."
"But mum I've just had a bath,
Your having a laugh."
"I don't want you infecting any of us,
It's not much fun having coronavirus."
