The Darkest Night

Please guide me home
for tonight I wont be able to walk alone
I need soft-spoken eyes to show me the way
I need pure loving hands to tap on my shoulders
Kind-hearted soul for my heart to release this pain
I think I can't go any further
I know I've lost the track, can't find the right path to come back
I've screwed everything since the awake of the universe
I've forgotten what it's like to be back home, welcomed and adored
I can't remember the taste of thousand morning kisses, nourish my lonely mind
I've missed plenty of midnight dreams
I won't be able to choose,
The palest moon or the dimmest sun

I try not to overthink
Go straight and keep going
while the end seems so out of reach
I'll sing love lullaby from my trembled lips
Among the countless tears and invisible rain
Somewhere
I need to find myself
I am going to meet me
Even though this has been
my darkest night
painted
with the brightest light

You caught me up from the very start with those wonderful opening lines, right through to the end
Nice one

At the end of the day after the ache we feel for another slowly goes, we usually find that what we need is with us.

A sad but beautiful work Deb
