The Sunshine Is Ginger & White

entry picture

The Sunshine Is Ginger And White

Here comes the sunshine

Not our sunshine

But the ginger and white sunshine

From across the street

The little prince

With heart markings

He sits at the window

Silently imploring entry

And when the door opens

He trots his way to the kitchen

And looks up at us

In milky expectation

He’s still a kitten

With greying fur

And a soft paw

That takes just one treat

From the offered bag

And then another                 and then another

Fully fed

He curls into a yoga shape

And closes his eyes

To all that’s going on

Around him

In his daytime lair

Not our kitten

Not our baby

Just the furry friend

Who visits every day

Without fail

To say hello

And late at night

When it’s cold and wet

There is a soft voice

At the door

And having a heart

He is let in

Ginger
Biscuit
Fudge

Unsure of his name

But absolutely sure

Of his undying love

Thanks for the 'likes' and for the kind comments Hannah and Jennifer. I don't think I've ever written a cat poem before and I never thought I would - but when they become a part of your life, particularly in these dark times, you provide and they provide comfort. Love this little ginger visitor ?
