Donations are essential to keep Write Out Loud going

I had it all

At the time all those little things,

I guess they seemed so small,

But right now I know for sure,

That we really had it all.

On 31st January,

We bought the new year in,

Made our resolutions, celebrated,

Couldn’t wait for the new year to begin.

A few months down the line,

Who would have known,

The world would be in lock down,

And we couldn’t leave our homes.

There are so many little things,

I never truly appreciated,

Seeing my family, going for a walk,

I took it all for granted.

While most of us are at home now,

Some are wishing they could be too,

The hospital workers, the supermarket staff,

Many others with important jobs to do.

And there are those who have been taken,

Those who never got to see,

Another day of back to normal,

Another day of being free.

All those hearts that have been broken,

All the suffering and pain,

My heart goes out to all those families,

Wishing one day they find happiness again.

As I sit at home and write this,

I think about my life that seems so small,

But I realise I still have everyone I love,

And I know I still have it all.

A fine tribute to those who are now working hard to keep us safe and healthy.
Well said
