Who will close the last door?
A virus brings you in prison.
But fear is the real disease,
Panic and Hysteria
Cause all the symptoms.
It gives the powerful more power
And the lonely ones
More loneliness.
Isolation is not healthy,
Fears just make us sick.
Go out and live,
Don't read the news
And you will stay healthy.

A timely (and IMHO) true message that harks back to Roosevelt's
famous words about the need to face fear itself. The emergent
global media is a disseminator of dread and feeds off the fears of
its audience to report more and more of the same doom and gloom
stuff. The love of power and influence takes various forms and we
should be on our guard to keep a clear vision of what is going on -
most importantly in its likely effect on our lives, rather than be
rattled into a response that merely encourages excesses of control
through caution that we can do find ourselves being persuaded to accept: an insidious form of "big brother" creeping in and regulating
our existence.
