My daughter brought me chocolates & wine.
I said:
you alone would have been fine
She gave me such a loving hug
The type you'd bottle, if only you could
My girl, I said
My Dad, she smiled
And then we just sat for a little while
Nestled in the comfort of reminisce
Of laughter & holidays & family bliss…
