My Champion

I was just a small girl barefoot in the grass

Smiling sweetly with comedic sass

So kind and so warm with eye that burned bright

But i weathered the storms with all of my might.

Tattered and beaten, confidence drowned

I prayed a champion one day would be crowned.

I sought him in every face that I knew

But heartbreak and disappoint always ensue.

Time doesn't rid the bu...

The Moth

Why does the moth fly in the flame?
What powers does it wield?
Perhaps the lights dance in its eyes
Whene'er the smiles do yield.

Perhaps its hands are strong and firm
Yet delicately pressed intwined.
Perhaps their touch is just as soft
When it whispers "You are mine."

Perhaps its voice soft and smooth
Leaves the moth without her breath.
Perhaps a smile engulfing the flame
Can...

Jelousy

Pulsing, Burning, Spitting hate

But my anger will not sate

Grab her, squeeze her, pluck her eyes

But their image never dies.

One small picture of him with her

And all gets lost in a watery bluer

Her eyes.

Her eyes!

Her Fucking Eyes!!

Her eyes that stare and pine,

Loving so dearly that which is mine!

The look shoots daggers straight to my gut.

How dare she touch...

Shell of Myself

Echos of my dreams resound in my head.

Grasping at a tread to prove they aren't all dead.

Who was it that I saw when I looked with fresh young eyes?

Who did I want to grow to be years before a life of lies?

What was it that made my heart quicken?

What was it that made my bonds thicken?

What passions were lost in the currents of life

As I struggled to stay afloat all the year...

Eternal Grudge

Now you’ve done it.

Now we’re done.

You’ve waved the flag and brought the bull

You’ve been an astronomic fool

I’m just like you

the rage

the fire

In tremulous swell

I warned you once

I warned you twice

I even fucking warned you thrice

But there you go

You take no heed

And now you want to cry and plead

You drew back your arrows

And ai...

Waiting

The air is cold and sterile.

The sheets are crisp and white.

I watch you twitch and dream,

In the dim fluorescence light.

Never before have we been here,

At least never for you.

I grip your hand and try to be strong,

Although I know not what to do.

My mind is running wild.

My stomach is in knots.

It's probably nothing serious.

So I try to quiet my thought...

Tetris

Click click click

The mindless games start to make my eyes water.

Red piece.  Blue piece.  Green piece.

I’m just trying to clean the slate.

Line.  Level.  Score.

I must distract my mind to hold back the real tears.

Drip. Drip. Drop.

Shallow thoughts to keep the mind from going deeper.

Rip.  Tear.  Scream.

Keep the eyes from finding the mirror.

Slam.  Crash.  Crack...

Stay

I sigh and pine and waste away,
But for all my love he will not stay
True to the promise he made to me.
I beg and plea but it cannot be.

He wraps me up in his arms.
How many others has he coaxed with these charms?
How many women were whispered sweet words?
One? Five? Shall they gather in herds?

There's a tightness in my chest
There's a numbness in my soul
There's a gleam that vanish...

Nursing Home

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Echoes in death’s waiting room.

The elderly have been sent to await their fate

In a place where air wears death’s perfume.

They grab their fruit cup snacks and sit in gloom

They long for the warm home table and filling plate.

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Echoes in death’s waiting room.

The air is stale and chocks lungs with fumes

The beds are stain...
