THE CALL OF IRELAND
Ireland appeared in my dreams today.
The green hills rolled, a rumpled blanket under
A sky shifting from soft grey to a vibrant blue.
I traced the stacked ancient stone walls as I walked
Those dividing fields where sheep grazed silently.
The air smelled damp, and I
Could almost taste the salty tang of the sea.
The Atlantic crashed against the cliffs,
As the sea birds whee...
