To Grab Hold
To grab hold.
Alone in bed I think of her.
The contours of my pillow make her body.
I squeeze her lower back.
My fingers grip her smooth, soft tummy.
I bite her ear.
Holding her is warmth.
Calmness.
Peaceful.
Her warm eyes say the words.
They draw me close.
Every kiss is x a 1,000.
To grab hold is real.
Happiness abounds.

Never done this before.
Waiting for the laughter.
The derision.
My voice crackles.
My glands sweaty.
I'm unsure.
I lack confidence but lie to get laid.
Are they judging me?
Do they notice me?
Where's my xanax?
Will that pretty girl in the front fall in love with me?
Is it over?
Did I read it?
Did they like it?

One hand on the bottle.
The other on the throttle.
Take a pull. Take a drag.
Have a smoke. It's called a fag.
Wake up lonely. Slept in the chair.
TVs on. But no ones there.
Head keeps pounding. Pounding. Pounding. Time for a drink. Sit and think.
Smoke a smoke. Tell a joke.
Take a sip, to your lip.
Rense repeat.
