Christmas cheer
Everyone knows
At this time of year
Everyone should be happy
Full of good cheer
With loved ones around them
And good food to eat
All is merry
What a wonderful feat.
But many people
Will be going without
Whether they've lost loved ones
Or their next meal brings doubt
There are so many people
Who have the hardest times
Trying to get though the holidays

A Mum
I used to see you in the kitchen
Running around with messy hair
No makeup and no time for tea
Not a second you had to spare
I used to see you in the bathroom
Trying to get little teeth brushed
Stubborn little darlings
Not understanding the blur and rush
I used to see you in the living room
Trying to find that missing shoe
There’s no time to find it
