We talk at my door for half an hour,

then I feel compassion and let you in.

You regret being silly and I do being nasty,

tell me how did it come to all this?

We manage to sort this madness out and become friends.

You unwind,

from my eyes,

a flare of innocence

magnesium raw

my tainted bitter roots

grip, twist and tighten

to save myself,

I cause pain

I do not feel it.

lying now in a frame

of solitude,

light muted by curtains,

still in my absolution.
