Hi Cynthia,
Thank-you for reading and commenting on 'autumn' - I agree that the last two lines definitely need work, still considering which way to go with them.
How are you? Hope you are well.

Hi Cynthia - re; Tube Ride - the ky gel idea was adopted from a short story I wrote a while back - I wanted to show the 2 main characters previous night's romp via a conversation with the chambermaids with the stooge finding the ky gel and asking a load of dumb questions which enabled the smart one to reveal what had taken place the previous evening without actually mentioning the sexual act - the problem was I didn't know the name of the lubricant and embarassed had to ask a Boot's chemist's assistant without sounding like a perv - fortunately I found a mature lady explained why I needed to know and we both shared a good laugh - so there you have the plot - much obliged for your comments

Yup, salt - all of those things :) I love how you pick up on all that - but salt has always removed stains...in a real physical sense. Unless it's mixed with hot water, of course ;D

Good to see you back btw.

Thank you for your considered comments - very much appreciated

Cynthia!
You always amaze with your in-depth analysis of poems...
You seem to pick up on things others do not, yet it is so interesting how people interpret your work... I was thrilled that you saw the spirituality in my poem 'Languid running wild' as it was a huge part of my childhood.
Thank you so much : )

Hi Cynthia, thanks for your comments on The Fairies. You're right, it can be terribly distressing for all concerned, whether the thieving is real or imaginary, and has caused family fissures in this case.

Thanks for your comments on 13:35 Cynthia :)

Ah, that title...there's actually tons to get out of it, we were messing about with it last night. The verses are 3 line verses...and there are two 3s in the title.

You can add the 1 and the 5 to get 6, which is what the two inner threes amount to. Half of 6 is 3.

Also, 5 minus 3 = 2, as does 3 minus 1 = 2 (don't know if you yourself have a 'lucky number', but mine is two!). 1 + 3 = 4, 5 + 3 = 8, which is 4 doubled(8 is in itself 2 times 2, then times 2).

I like your thought on it too :) I am really quite interested in numerology anyway, and it all got a bit spooky last night!

Anyway, ta for taking the time to read, as always :)

Cynthia - thank you very much for your views on Wind-Blown Tree - metaphor and symbolism of course - not sure I went as far as human life with the tree but certainly some kind of consciousness and an affinity I cannot quite explain

- was also very grateful for your very kind comments on Through the Looking Glass exactly the sort of remarks that spur me on x

Thank you Cynthia.

I have written many pieces for my son, Joseph.

This piece was written in September last year though the event took place in November 1991.

This type of pain, I think, never leaves, its something we learn to live with and is dulled with enough time.

Thank you so much for your wonderful and well thought through comments’;

Once again I thank you for reading and taking the time to comment on my work.

Thanks for your appraisal of "Bigotry" Cynthia. I intended there to be a villanelle (which I've had to change slightly to make it more coherent in the final quatrain) with a prosaic stanza of the same length as the villanelle (19 lines). Within which to compare and contrast the two and, as you probably have guessed, to denounce bigots soley biased to either vein. I think it needs editing but there are quite a few things to it that I definitely want to keep as well. I'll try to get around them but it sometimes takes me a while to think how to get around a certain obstacle.

All the best

- Josh

Hi Cynthia -
1) Chinked. as in to make a sharp, ringing sound, as of coins or glasses striking together.used here in connection with the pile of stacked bowls.
2)Starred should be Stared as in a fixed gaze
Thank you for you correction.

Hi Cynthia, one less less in pointlessless, it was a typo in any case!
Thank you so much for your feedback, I'm new to this or any other site & haven't shared my poetry with many people other than close friends and family so constructive criticism is welcome. I wondered about the immobilised line & thought it might be extraneous but wanted to ensure the butterflied bit was understood.
And hey, I don't mind being in the same company as Mr Shaw - lol!
