thanks for the kind comment on 'snipers' Shirley-Anne - I've been useless lately on getting onto WOL and thanking people - so sincere apologies for taking so long - glad you liked it

Tarrabunch Shirl. Thanks for taking the trouble to read and comment on my offerings. Much appreciated. Thought I'd have a go at a couple of war poems as I have been asked to read at a Remembrance festival in October so the comments are doubly valuable.

Hi Shirley-Anne

I wrote this deliberate piece of nonsense in a cynical frame of mind for which I apologise, to see what sort of reaction it would attract.
And comment-wise it's done better than my usual stuff. Where have I gone wrong? LOveryL.

Glad you liked 'Smelly Bogs.. and Habitat Hippy' and thanks for reading. Your comments were very welcome.

I meant what I said about your poem 'Today in Taiji' and I don't think a news correspondent could have done better.

There's fire in your words, Shirley-Ann, and justice in your motives. I love hearing you read your work, whether at Middleton or, as earlier this month, at Bolton. You deserve a wider audience. See you somewhere, somewhen.

Hi Shirley-Anne
I too have family who served, like your Paternal Grandfather, (at that time) with the Manchester Regiment. In fact Wilfred Owen himself was commissioned in June 1916 and served with the 2nd Battalion in France.
Thank you for your very kind words about 'The Place were only Dead Men Sleep'.
Much appreciated.

Thank you for the welcome, Graham. Appreciated :)

I did try to add a profile picture, a drawing rather than a photograph. Think I messed up somewhere because it seems to have disappeared into the ether and I have lost the ability to add another one.

Aww... Ken, thank you.

I am sincere in adding you as a favourite. I enjoy your readings down at the Ringers. Your poetry is a delight, funny on the surface and poignant beneath.

Hi Shirley-Anne.

I'm delighted, amazed, and flattered to be a favourite profile choice.

Reading the excellent chuckle-worthy and equally profound Rochdale Pay Rise. I worry for the Kennedy future in the public sector. Consequential to your light hearted treatment of this emotive subject.

"Or" taken seriously as independant consultancy opinion.

Hi Shirley-Anne
I love your take on the 'Ballad of the Rochdale Pay Rise'. It has great balance and found myself wanting to sing it as I read.
I found the closing words on 'Shadow Hunter' quite haunting and left me wanting more.
I really enjoyed both of these.
