I wince at the prospect of descending to the hoi polloi when I am one Greg. Well put together with a slip of poison to boot.

My best one was manning the Pitch and Putt shed at the park. As often as not I closed it. Rain. Dry greens. Too windy. Heavy dew.

And you've written a poem about that, I know. I do rather specialise in mining my past for poems, but I think holiday jobs is a rich seam, and I look forward to others' poems on the subject up here. I'm already thinking of one about my road sweeping days!
PS As for being a secret Tory, Graham, I know you're only kidding. But I find myself strangely in agreement with the Daily Mail in wanting Liz Truss to be PM. Maybe for different reasons ...
PPS Thanks for the comments, both Stephens, Graham, and John. And for the Likes, Nigel, Tom, Frederick, Branwell, Julie, and Holden

It wasn't grand at all, Graham. Just stuffing tax discs in envelopes, basically. Working in an enormous office block called Tolworth Tower that is still there today. Mind-numbingly boring, and not the best preparation in my last month before going to uni!
What's the worst job you ever had?

I’ll give you 1,2 and 3 Greg but I’m struggling with the last one 🤔
Sounds very grand. Are you sure you’re not a secret Tory? 🧐

The Christmas post, Greg. Good memories. It's strange that all the candidates are very 'ordinary' in one sense, but can't convince anyone they are 'ordinary' people. Or perhaps it isn't. Good one.
