In the working of a poem

some so oddly came along

among many, this was one

that from simplicity was sprung

 

Listeners cannot be confused

when simplicity is used

and the audience gladly gleans

what the poet simply means

 

There is no need for more

let poems stay faithful to their core

from the heart determine reach

make them simple, yet unique

 

Would not poets be remiss

should this idea be dismissed

let simplicity long exist

in poems as simplistic as this.
