Its New Year’s Eve......this years been sad

When it’s finally over I will be glad

I have to look forward and not behind
Savour the bacon and cut off the rind
There are things in life you can’t control
Accept this as fact in your heart and soul
Be thick in your arm and strong in your head
Get up every morning and make that bed
Then Look in that mirror...whose staring at you
For this will decide how you‘ll make it through
Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone
Your not the only one that’s lost and alone
Your not a burden but someone in need
Choose a person carefully...help plant the seed
Not of doubt....but more positive thinking
Tip life’s scales.....your no longer sinking
One small step and your journey is starting
Keep looking forward.....anguishes departing
Now this is where you have to decide
Get off life’s train ...or stay on for the ride
My only advice or guidance I’ll give
Life is very much like a colander or sieve
Be very Careful what you allow to pass through
As the smallest things will matter to you
Keep these memories tucked safely away
As I know in time you’ll need to press play
Make a difference in somebodies life
A smile, an hello , it’s no trouble or strife
The healing process is a long and difficult task
Get out into the world and remove your mask
Show your strength but your weaknesses too
You’ll grow in confidence the latter become few
Deal with life just one step at a time
Cross off your list....as I have on mine
The last year of life was smothered in pain
Every time I looked out.. just darkness and rain
As a new year approaches, a glimmer of light
Though I’m no where near the end of life’s long fight
But No more advice it’s is my temporary stop
Recharge my batteries...but half full is my pot.
But a breather I need ....I‘ve paid a hefty fee
So I‘ll focus on the people who are dear to me
