True Names

Show me your true name, the one you can't disguise,

That no-one can pronounce but is written in your eyes,

The one that hides in plain sight in your averted gaze,

The one you keep from passers by and save for he who stays,

Please show me that name, that's carved upon your soul,

For I that know the half of you would like to know the whole,

Let me see it naked, with all it's fragile hopes and fears,

I'll cherish every part of it, its promises and tears,

Let me see your true name, as I have shown you mine,

The one that's carved upon your soul by the hand of time,

The one that lives beneath the distant, casual disguise,

The one that no-one can pronounce, that's written in your eyes.

No, thank you Cynthia, as I've said before I'm dyslexic so genuinely grateful when people point errors out because I quite often don't see them, so please don't ever hesitate, I really do appreciate it.

Jason, this is really GOOD! It's SO good, check it for 'tiny' grammatical/spelling errors, and possibly even rhythm. It's in the big, wide world now, and should show you at your absolute best!

I'm taking an awful chance sending this. Honestly, I just want to see it splendid!

Thank you all so much, really glad you liked it. I'm in a real writing mode at the moment so rattling a lot of stuff off, and I never really know if anyone will like it apart from me, and even then, most of the time it's just a relief to get the thing of my chest.?
