Forget about the election – once you’ve cast your vote, of course – it’s Write Out Loud Wigan in the Bailiff Bar of the Old Courts arts centre on Thursday 12 December. The message is: “Political poetry will be frowned upon - it will be too late to change anything by the time we get started - so bring your festive and peaceful poetry to share.” Entry is free to this open-mic poetry night, which starts at 8pm.
