I've Failed as a Poet Again

I've Failed as a Poet Again

Hillbillys Caff once again I do sit

It's hopeless, don't know what to write

I'm doing my usual look-looking around

But there's no ideas coming in sight

So what does a poet do lacking ideas?

With me it's to internalise

To turn on myself, making neurons go round

See what they can bring me, surprise

Damn! Looks like I've failed as a poet again

My usual active brain's brought me nought

As boring this is, I'll just wrap it up

Abandon my poem. Abort

That last line is the kicker!

Rhyming nought and abort... a lesser poet would have gone for...
I thought!

That's what stands you apart 'Mighty Don'

Your oldest chum across the far side of the planet, on the Darkside.

Oh Donny dear.....it's not like you to give up
Your rhymes are all so brilliant
Your poems really in millions
We are big fans of your write
If you abandon we might die
So carry on writing
Just shake yourself up a litlle
Lift ur bums and twist and turn
May be from your knees
New ideas will finally return

Hehehe!! 💖

Words of wisdom, from 'The Mighty Don'

...Damn! Looks like I've failed as a poet again

Abandon my poem. Abort"

If I had a pound for every poem in my poetry folder that is unfinished, or worse still a non-starter I could retire in the carry-bean or some other place wit a warmer clim... like OZ!

Well no! Not OZ, the competition amongst poets there, is far too fierce I hear.
