The importance of teamwork

Jack and Bill were part of a team,

Worked at the park's department in East Cheam.

Jack dug holes and Bill filled them in,

But to me the situation was a no win.

They worked all day, it seemed pointless to me

So I asked them why over a cup of tea.

"Well, the third man in our team ,he's called Mick,

He plants the trees, but rang in sick!"

There's probably more truth to this than you might think.

This is a true story - around 20 years ago, between Christmas and New Year, a van arrived at the Parcelforce distribution centre where I worked. It was a daily run between Birmingham and Worcester to transfer parcels. When we opened the rear doors we found it was completely empty. "Why did you bother coming?" we asked. "It's my job" the driver replied.
