Three of Swords – Tears and woe – A bleeding heart, a Necessary cutting

Interpretation: This card indicates that the seeker has something to mourn over. There is a sense of sorrow and loss and that they are experiencing emotional pain. Perhaps you have just suffered or are suffering a tremendous amount of grief and sadness that your heart is feeling terribly hurt. This could be the hurt of a love one or of family member and your sorrow is overwhelming you. However this card is showing you that you need to put this hurt into perspective and that you need to find the source of pain and let go of it. Whether it be a relationship that has ended or some kind loss or death this card is showing you that your heart is in dire need repair and you should use your headspace and intellect to make the hard choose in life and to cut yourself lose from your heartache that will set you free from your misery. This is a card of necessary cutting, an ending of an affair of the heart. However apart from the emotional issues this card can also indicate a period of illness or the need for the seeker or someone known to the seeker to undertake a necessary surgery.

Reversed: The headache and heartache is ending. Whatever painful situation you have been through is in its final stages. The pain has been great so it may linger for a while longer though but know that the worst is over and recovery is soon to follow.

This could also indicate a heartache that you were not aware of but should be. Perhaps something is happening or someone is doing something hurtful behind your back and you don’t even know it yet. But hopefully soon all shall be revealed to the seeker and they or someone close to them will be in for some serious heartache.
