Climb

Climb the hills that you can manage, stand upon the pinnacles,

Find the will to fight the damage levied by the cynical,

Their perturbances don't matter, the lyrical don't shout,

Their disturbances, the chatter of stereotypical doubt,

Concentrate on the peak but be sure to enjoy the climb,

Contemplate the oblique as you endure the passage of time,

There is no use pushing on so hard that you miss the beauty of your ascent,

Only the obtuse would rush to disregard their duty to adore the heaven sent,

There are sharp edges and quick falls, so mind your feet, it's a long drop

There are dark ledges with slick walls but don't retreat, it's wrong to stop,

Just hold your nerve, check your boots and be sure to get a good grip,

The bold don't swerve the tougher routes, they're just sure they won't slip,

Be brave my friend, climb and smile, that face doesn't suit a frown,

Save some strength for the end, the last mile, the only other route is down,

True it will be tough, to reach the height of your own pinnacle,

But it will be reward enough, to reach the site of your lone miracle.

Thanks Ruth, sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, for some reason my notifications seem to have been turned off, or there's a technical fault, whatever it is I don't seem to receive any notifications from WOL anymore, my inbox remains empty?
Not sure. Anyway thank you so much for the kind comments.

Really enjoyed this Jason, I love empowering poetry. The rhythm really builds you up into feeling you can overcome all the obstacles and negativity. I liked the line
' Their disturbances, the chatter of stereotypical doubt,' .
