Can't is a four-letter word

A euphemism preferred

When short on courage or will;

We sweeten up the word

Like a sugar-coated pill;

'Sorry, but I CAN'T help you...'

Sounds a little less uncouth;

'Can help but I DON'T WANT TO.'

- Much closer to the truth.

Great meaningful rhyme. Reminds me of Pam Ayres.

I like it Chrystel. You've prompted me to write:

CAN'T is a four-letter word
The opposite, a three-letter CAN
I am much more partial to the three-letter
So the four-letter one, I you ban...

Very succinct, to the point, insightful and I love it. So true, hiding belligerence in polite speech.
