A Eulogy To Poets  at WOL

I wish I could write a poem like Julian Jorden.
His Rhubarb Poem cracks me up.
And when he starts quoting French
Well my toes curl up in pleasure.

I wish I could write a poem like Peter Crompton.
He is so full of emotion and life
His performance can give me
The goose bumps.

I wish I could write a poem like Eric Tomlinson.
He has the perfect ear for rhyme.
His stories excel in every way,
Performed in a calm  casual  display.

I wish I could write a poem like Lynda Morgan.
She has such a gentle approach
That pulls at my heartstrings
And makes me engage my inner soul.

I wish I could write a poem like Scott Devon.
He remembers all his words,
It is a feat that I have yet to attempt
A truly mesmerising Performance.

I wish I could write a poem like Gemma Lee.
I love her presentations,
All her poems reflect life
And her accent enhances her poetry.

I wish I could write a poem like Alan Gray
and entertain.
He has a unique presentation
and a phenomenal memory.
Alan your a gem.

I wish I could write a poem like Dave Morgan.
This man can write anything.
It would always be relevant and exceptional
He has a wonderful way with words.

I wish I could write a poem like Darren Thomas.
He truly has a  gift with words.
Always a pleasure to hear his poems
And read his uninhibited  reviews.

I wish to write a poem like Paul Blackburn.
One never knows what is coming
And he has the most quirky imagination
But he knows that  I like him.

Everyone who reads, performs at Write Out Loud
Has my admiration ,my thanks,
For their  application, their involvement ,
In sharing their work and their dedication
To the Spoken Word.

A lovely idea Val and beautifully executed. I think it could do with extending by one verse though - nudge, nudge, wink, wink
