My Better 3/4

The scar and trauma of a severed soul is mathematically inconvenient

Cauterize The Heart to save Its better half; cuts "being" down to 50% off.

Should you come to love me, know from the start, that wily is the minion

that binds our fortunes; who is meant to roar and who is meant to cough

For the stronger link is doomed to waste away

if placed next to the weak one.

But if stricken by insanity you decide to stay

know that it'll be hard to run.

You must grow bigger and taller than either of us is

Become both our weekness' master

Your must develop a skin with tearproof properties,

learn to love farther and wider and vaster.

Be my better half, be my stronger half, be the half that can bear a load

And more; be the part of me that can keep my severed heart in place

Be my bigger half, be my wiser half, be the half who will know the road

that shall leads us away from contempt and resentment and disgrace.

Should the folly be mighty, and, after all, you love me still

so much given may feel like so much lost.

But remember; by the end of our tragicomedy you will

find yourself to be a bigger man than most.

Your writing is so personal which I think is what makes it universal...if that makes sense.

I really enjoyed the line
wily is the minion....

It gives me this image of two people with some sort of colored thread, potential futures, flowing in front of them as they move through time, and I see some bespectacled imp grabbing random threads and working them into a friendship bracelet sort of weave.

Anyway...always a pleasure to read and think about your works. And as Jason commented...there is no reason to believe that you do not bring an abundant portion to any pairing...now thinking of imp grabbing 3 threads here...1 thread here....3 threads 1 thread. Maybe that is why love isn't always equal...hmmmm.

Peace,
Adam

You are too kind dear Jason! Sometimes one can't help but feel somewhat broken...It happens... There can be no light without the dark. Nor can there be poetry without it. if you can call all that poetry!
Thank you my dear friend ?

Mae, I find it hard to believe that anyone could be the 3/4 to your 1/4.
I think the strength and insight that you express in your writing shows that anyone stood next to you would be hard pressed to be your equal and would receive every bit of effort they put in back in at least equal measure. The true insanity would be for them not to try.
